Go to the Lion City and break thousands of scrolls! Jingsh Law Firm’s “Beijing Youth Journey” Young Lawyers Study Tour—Singapore Station Successfully Concluded

Jingqing Miles Tour-Singapore Station

The capital is thousands of miles away, and we walk with the law. Every cross-border study is a ladder of professional growth, and every foreign-related exchange is a deep expansion of the rule of law.

From May 24 to 28, 2026, the "Beijing Youth Journey" Young Lawyers Study Tour-Singapore Station initiated by the Jingsh Law Firm (National) Yout h Working Committee came to a successful conclusion. Nearly 20 young lawyers from the Beijing Normal University gathered in the "Lion City". During the five-day trip, focusing on professional exchanges, they visited top universities and overseas cooperation officesin depth, and conducted immersive research aroundforeign-related legal service practicesto effectively improve their cross-border practice capabilities.Exploring the integration of common law education and practice** **National University of Singapore,**Singapore Management University

On May 25, the study tour officially started. You ng lawyers visited National University of Singaporeand Singapore Management University to observe at close range the deep integration of common law education and Asian legal practice. At the two universities, the students held heated discussions on topics such as international talent training, innovation in legal education, and comparison of the legal systems of China and Singapore, absorbing cutting-edge legal concepts and laying a solid theoretical foundation for foreign-related legal services.

The Singapore Family Court was established in 2014 and consists of the Family Court, Juvenile Court and the Family Division of the High Court. As a professional court in the Singapore judicial system that specializes in family matters, its jurisdiction covers a wide range of areas such as divorce, probate, alimony, domestic violence, child custody, and transnational child abduction. What impressed the young lawyers most is that the Family Court takes "Therapeutic Justice" as its core concept and emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration - integrating law with psychology and social sciences to resolve family disputes in a gentler and more supportive way. Among them, the mandatory mediation and counseling system implemented by the Family Dispute Resolution Division (FDR), as well as the system design that takes "the best interests of the child" as the primary principle in cases involving minors, provide students with a new perspective in handling cross-border family disputes.

It has currently established overseas cooperation offices in 41 countries and regions around the world, forming an international legal service network covering multiple important economic regions. Relying on Jingsh’s global network and local professional resources, it provides enterprises and individuals with full-process legal support from market access, operation management to compliance risk control and investment exit. During the on-site visit, Meng Jie, director of the Singapore Cooperation Office of Jingsh Law Firm, gave a warm reception. The young lawyers and the Singapore Cooperation Office team had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the similarities and differences between the legal systems of China and Singapore, cross-border dispute resolution practices, and legal services along the “Belt and Road”. The on-site interaction was lively. This face-to-face ideological collision not only opened up a new horizon of foreign-related legal services for domestic young lawyers, but also laid a solid foundation for transnational business collaboration within the law firm system.

In addition to in-depth exchanges, the young lawyers and their delegation also visited the National Museum of Singapore and the National Gallery of Singapore. At the National Museum of Singapore, through immersive exhibitions such as "Singapore Odyssey", young lawyers intuitively experienced the evolution of the island country over the past 700 years from a fishing village to an international city, and deeply understood how the rule of law and urban governance work together to promote social transformation; at the National Gallery of Singapore, in the art hall converted from the former Supreme Court building and City Hall, the light and shadow of Southeast Asian modern and contemporary art allowed the students to further understand the logic of order construction under the coexistence of multiple civilizations at the intersection of history and aesthetics. From the depth of history to the depth of art, this visit not only broadened the humanistic horizons of young lawyers, but also made them more convinced that true foreign-related legal ability requires not only understanding the rules, but also understanding the people, culture and history behind the rules.

During the trip, the young lawyers also took advantage of the break to experience the diverse culture of the Lion City. The team strolled through the Merlion Park, took a cruise on Clarke Quay, and gazed at landmarks such as the Sands Hotel in the night. During the process, they visited Fort Canning Park, Chinatown and other neighborhoods to experience the struggle footprints of the Chinese ancestors and the history of the blending of diverse ethnic groups. In the evening, we also visited the Singapore Night Zoo. These cultural experiences serve as a useful adjustment for business exchanges, helping students relax their body and mind after intense study and better integrate into the local environment.

On the side of the equator, by the rain forest and the sea; the capital is thousands of miles away, and the Dharma is in the Lion City. The five-day "Beijing Youth Journey" Singapore study tour is centered on the practical collision between study visits to universities and professional judicial institutions and the practical collision of overseas cooperation offices, and is supplemented by multicultural visits. Through solid business exchanges, young lawyers have deepened their understanding of cross-border investment, dispute resolution, compliance management and other fields, and expanded their international practice horizons. In the future, they will use the gains from this study to improve their foreign-related legal service skills, build a bridge connecting China and the world’s legal services with a broader vision and more solid professional capabilities, and contribute the wisdom and strength of Beijing’s youth to the construction of foreign-related legal services in the new era.
