In order to further promote the people's mediation work in the prevention and resolution of marriage and family disputes in Chaoyang District and improve the level of mediation work of the women's federations of each neighborhood and township and the neighborhood marriage mediation rooms, on the afternoon of July 7, a special training on the mediation work of the Chaoyang District People's Mediation Committee for Marriage and Family Disputes was held in the large lecture hall on the first floor of the Jingshi Lawyer Building**. This training is sponsored by Chaoyang District Women's Federation, hosted byYuanzh ong Family and Community Development Service Center, and supported by Jingshi Law Firm. A total of more than 100 people, including full-time vice-chairmen of women's federations in various neighborhoods and townships, and mediators of women's federation marriage mediation rooms, participated in the training.

For this training, Cao Junying, a national model people's mediator and a first-level people's mediator in Beijing, was specially invited to give lectures. Cao Junying has been on the frontline of grassroots mediation for nearly 30 years. Since 2020, he has been responsible for the "Sister Cao Mediation Room" and the "Two Stations and One Room" diversified dispute resolution platform in Pingfang Township. He has led the team to accept and mediate more than 10,000 complex conflicts and disputes such as marriage and family, property rights, and demolition and resettlement. The mediation success rate exceeds 90%, and he has won more than 50 banners from the masses. He has been hired by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice as a mentor for the "Beijing Youth for Civil Service" for two consecutive years.

During the training, Mr. Cao Junying systematically explained the principles, methods and core skills of people's mediation based on his many years of front-line mediation experience, and shared the six-fold approach of "keeping the original intention, patience, public mind, wisdom, benevolence and normality". She gave a detailed explanation of the standardization, format requirements and practical procedures of the people's mediation agreement, emphasizing the standardized operating standards of "one case, one file". In the actual case dismantling session, she took an extremely complex case in which a fire accident resulted in the death of four delivery workers as an example, and described how the mediator found a balance between legal principles and rationality through "life and death companionship, listening and empowering", "precise policy implementation, resolving crises", "combination of obstruction and intervention, and elimination of obsessions", etc., and ultimately guided the families to safeguard their rights in accordance with the law and obtain compensation. She also shared a mediation case involving elderly women’s caregiving and the mediation process of a minor conflict dispute caused by campus rumors, which vividly demonstrated the deep integration of “emotion, reason, and law” in grassroots mediation.

This training enhanced the grassroots Women's Federation cadres and mediators' mastery of marriage and family dispute mediation methods, and has positive significance for improving the standardization and professionalism of marriage mediation work.
